Todays trek takes us to Long Beach, CA where we will spend two nights before heading North to Malibu and actually get on the PCH. We arrived at 1400hrs and after setup took a quick stroll around the grounds. Pretty close to the Queen Mary as you may be able to tell from the photo. We are in paid camping and not 50′ feet to the west is camping for 0$. All you need is a tent or tarp and a shopping cart and you’re good to go. Park is pretty nice and gated so we anticipate avoiding any unpleasantries.
Golden Shores is near the water in a prime area of Long Breach close to shops and restaurants. There is a very long bike patch just outside the Park. There were a few homeless along the path so I am not sure how safe it is the further you ride. The lots are pretty small although we had no issues with our 32′ and parking a towed. Although this was an urban setting, I felt fairly secure behind the fence and security gate. You will have typical city noise. Like other reviewers have stated, the dog park is small and has artificial grass; however, there is plenty of area to walk your dog just outside the Park. We camped at Golden Shore RV Resort in a Motorhome.
