We took off at 11:00 for the 165 mile drive to Seminole Canyon State Park about 10 miles West of Comstock, Texas.  We stopped over in Marathon for a latte and quick burger at the Main Street Oasis.  Despite what we heard to the contrary, this is the place for burgers in Marathon not J&G.

After setting up, we took a couple of hours to check out the area. Although much warmer, forecast for the week are strong wings which could hamper some of our plans. The blog shot was taken of the Pecos River before it runs into the Rio Grand and Lake Amistad. It is depressing how low the river has become. Plans for the next few days involve some sight seeing and visiting with old friends, the Hardin’s.
