Today we left Pagosa Springs for what should have been a 75 mile 2 hour trip to Mesa Verde. The gods had another thing in mind. We hit freezing rain for a few miles East of Durango which slowed things down a bit. Then on 160 they had a major motorcycle vs Jeep head-on that closed down both directions. We had to back peddle and take a couple of county roads to get around the accident putting our travel time at a smooth 4 hours. Nonetheless we made it, unloaded and hit the park for what was going to be a reconnoiter trip. Because of the the rains and late hour, the park was virtually vacant so we decided to take advantage and before we knew, we done saw it. Another one in the books. We are currently having some shrimp & cocktails planning our next few days.
